Serve Maryville

We love Maryville.

Scripture tells us that Jesus led by serving, so as we strive to become more Christlike we want to serve the least of these in our local community.

Matthew 25:40

Helping Hands

In March of 2008, two members of RIO Revolution had a vision to start a local outreach project called Helping Hands. Its purpose was to reach the Blount County’s underprivileged children and families in Blount County, TN. Our first Helping Hands event provided help to 180 families in need receive help.

Donations from local businesses and individuals and over more than 500 church volunteers from the church help serve more than 6,700 local children and families who were in need of help. We provide new shoes, free haircuts, food, hundreds of hygiene bags, school supplies, and clothing. Every year the numbers grow, and we need your help to continue to serve Blount County.

We look forward to working with you or your company as we endeavor to supply and meet both physical and emotional needs of children and families in our communities.

Isaiah 58

RIO is declaring war on hunger. We are determined that no child in Blount County should go to bed hungry. Isaiah 58 is an event that happens each week, and rotates between the different RIO churches. We would love your help boxing up food and distributing on Saturday mornings.

God’s Place

God’s Place Church is a ministry of Pastor Tim Macklin of Knoxville, TN. Pastor Tim has a calling to minister to the hurting and the homeless in Knoxville. Although the ministry is at work all year round, on the fourth Saturday of each month Tim’s team sends out buses and vans and brings the hurting, homeless, and anyone else who wants to attend church to the old Sevier Heights Baptist Church building. That’s where our group of volunteers comes in.

After attending the church service, everyone is provided a very nice hot meal complete with dinner, dessert and coffee or a cold beverage. Our volunteers arrange for food donations for the meal, purchase food with cash donations received, deliver the food to the church, and set up and serve the attendees from start to finish. As many as 300 to 400 people are served each Saturday and we would love your help. Revolution’s group of volunteers greet everyone with a warm smile and shows God’s love to them through service.

Join us by meeting at the Ross Springs clubhouse the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm.

We reach out to students in need, and invite them to pick out a donated prom dress and accessories, then schedule hair and make up sessions for their school’s prom.

Second Chance will also assist with male attire needs for prom also. If there is a need in a student's life, we are here to fill it.
